Which part of the photo is kept?
The centre. The crop takes the largest area in the chosen format, centred on the image.
Which format for which use?
1:1 for profile pictures, 4:5 for Instagram posts, 9:16 for stories and reels, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no email to give. Open the page, drop your file, and it is done.
Is it really free?
Yes. Photos, PDFs and audio are unlimited. The free plan covers 3 videos a day and 5 files at a time.
Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit. Your device's memory is the only ceiling, so a very large video takes longer and needs a recent phone or computer.
What happens to my original file?
Nothing at all. It stays on your device, untouched. Shrinkzy writes a new, lighter copy and leaves the original alone.
Can I compress several files at once?
